As I was reading, a blackbird was singing to me from the tree outside, reminding me of the similarities between your beautifully observed birds, and ours here in the UK. The colours in your pics are singing out as beautifully as I imagine the birds sing. And that blue – stunning! I once manage to catch a quick glimpse of a turquoise kingfisher and I can still remember the brightness and brilliance of his feathers. Here our pheasants are lovely but fond of roads, and we have to be really careful on the local lanes so we can avoid them on the corners.
